Peace From God

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee:because he trusteth in thee.
Isaiah 26:3

This is a great promise from God. God promises perfect peace to those who trust Him. It’s not just for the children of Israel. This applies to everyone. Ruth is an example of someone who obtained that perfect peace. She wasn’t an Israelite. She was a Moabite. God promises perfect peace to those who trust Him.

Look at the phrase “perfect peace.” The original Hebrew text uses the phrase peace, peace. The Scripture is actually saying God will keep you in peace, peace when your mind is stayed on Him, trusting in Him. The double use of the word peace signifies that it’s an established and sure thing.

The word "mind" refers to the intellectually framework. It’s your mind at work; imagining, thinking, creating and forming. An inventor begins to create and form his invention in his mind first. Then he takes that which is in his mind and produces it in the natural. Perfect peace is produced when our imaginations are fixed on God. A mind, thoughts, and imaginings that are fixed on God produce trust in Him. Another way of saying it is to rest on or lean on God and thinking about His deliverance.

When you’re facing trials and you’ve asked God to help, it’s very important to think on God and His provision instead of the problem. Worry is mental distress. It’s thinking and imagining the problem. But when you let your thoughts imagine God and His provision, He will keep or preserve you, because you trust Him. It’s faith in action, because your mind at work will produce something. Why don’t you let it produce peace, peace?

Make a decision today to keep your mind on God. Let your imagination run rampant with His deliverance. He does care for you and desires to lead you to victory.
