Today with Jesus

But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
Acts 1:8

Revealed by His Spirit

How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words, Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ) Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;
Ephesians 3:3-5

The Lord Jesus asked the Father God send Someone like Him. Jesus taught His disciples about the Father and the kingdom of God. He took care of them. They didn’t lack for anything, and no harm came to them while they were in His care, except for the Betrayer. This is the way God wants it for us today. He wants us to learn of Him and He wants to take care of us. This is accomplished primarily through the Holy Spirit.

God sent the Holy Spirit to be our Guide and Teacher. He’s our Advocate in the wonderful sense of the word. He stands by our side, leading us, guiding, us, and teaching us. He intercedes and acts as mediator, defending our cause. Jesus is the mediator between God and man, but the Holy Spirit mediates between man and man. Often when you get mercy and favor, it’s the Holy Spirit Who spoke to the heart of that person.

In studying the Scriptures, the Holy Spirit also reveals the mysteries and secrets in God’s Word. That’s why Paul would pray for revelation, wisdom, and enlightenment for the Church so they would come to know God and His kingdom (Ephesians 1:16-18). Even Peter said it was through the knowledge of God and the Lord Jesus that God gives us all things for life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3). The Holy Spirit opens our eyes to the truth.

Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
1 Corinthians 2:12

When we receive Him, we can learn the things God freely gives us. We can come to know God the Father and the Lord Jesus better. Our understanding can be enlightened to know His plans and purposes, and the glorious blessings He has for His people. We can come to know and understand the exceeding greatness of His power to the Believer. The same power that raised Jesus from the dead is available to the Believer (Ephesians 1:17-21). It is by His Spirit.

Many people read the Bible and don’t understand it. They need the Holy Spirit to reveal its immeasurable wealth. To fully receive the blessings from God, we need to welcome His Gifts. The first Gift is His Son, Jesus, and the second is His Holy Spirit.

Just as we come to know the Lord Jesus, we should come to know the Holy Spirit. Let’s continue to learn about the Spirit of God and the role He plays in God’s plan for man. Receive the Holy Spirit now.
