He Sent His Word to Heal

Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he saveth them out of their distresses. He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.
Psalm 107:19-20

God wants His people healed. One of the benefits of God is that He heals all our diseases (Psalm 103:3). He’s a merciful God, gracious and good. Even when we miss it, and destruction (whatever form) comes upon us, we can turn back to God and He will deliver us. The children of Israel experienced this time and time again as Psalm 107 shows.

We also can call upon Him in the Name of Jesus, because like Israel, God sent His Word and healed us. He sent Jesus Who is the Word personified. The Apostle John states that the Word became flesh (John 1:14). God sent Jesus to save us, to deliver us, and to heal us. Healing is in the redemptive work of Christ.

Redemption is the ransom for deliverance. The devil puts sickness and disease on us to oppress us, to bind us, to hold us captive. The reason he can do that is because of sin. Sickness and disease is a byproduct of sin. Most of things that happen to us is because we sinned. Somewhere along the line we disobeyed God (whether knowingly or unknowingly). There’s good news. God sent Jesus.

He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
1 John 3:8

God sent Jesus to destroy the works of the devil. One of his works is oppressing us with sickness and disease. God sent Jesus, the Word personified to heal all those oppressed of the devil (Acts 10:38).

To get your healing, do what David did. He cried unto the Lord. The Scripture shows God healed him. God will heal you too.

O LORD my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me.
Psalms 30:2
